Introduction to Copilot Studio
One day in which participants use Copilot Studio to build agents that respond to events and perform actions in work processes. Level 4 of the Copilot series.

An agent that gives answers is useful. An agent that then also does something is where the time savings are: registering a report, informing a colleague, updating a record, starting the next step. Copilot Studio is the environment in which you build that kind of agent. This training teaches participants to design agents that respond to events and perform actions in a work process.
Format
The morning is about the building blocks. We cover the components of Copilot Studio and when to use which: Inline Agents for quick help within a conversation, Agent Topics for logic and conversation structure, Agent Tools to connect actions and external functionality, Triggers to make an agent respond to an event and Agent Flows to define steps within a process. We demonstrate each on a recognizable scenario.
In the afternoon participants build their own agent, with topics, tools and triggers, on a case from their own organization. We test with different situations, publish the agent in their own environment and discuss what it takes to keep it maintained.
Requirements
For this training participants need access to Copilot Studio, with the rights to create and publish an agent in their own Microsoft environment. We check this in advance together with your IT department, so the day is not lost to permissions. Participants who completed Building Copilot agents will recognize the structure; those who want to work in Copilot Studio directly can skip that training.
Agents that act need agreements
As soon as an agent acts, the same questions apply as to any automation: who owns it, which data may it access, who approves it going live and who keeps an eye on it. These questions come up at the end of the day. Organizations that want to use agents at scale and take a structural approach to their design, evaluation and management, we refer to the Agentic engineering training.
Learning goals
- You know what Copilot Studio offers for designing agents that perform actions
- You design an agent that performs actions within a process, independently
- You configure an agent that responds to specific events
- You use an agent to automate recurring work
- You build simple scenarios in which an agent sends messages or processes information
Who it is for
Staff in a technical or process role who want to build agents that do more than answer questions: application managers, IT staff, business analysts and power users. Participants have access to Copilot Studio and the rights to create and publish an agent in their own Microsoft environment.
